NexTier 5K Run raises $1,450 for the United Way of Butler County
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 4, 2007: NexTier Bank’s Junior Bank Board members raised $1,450 from their 5K Run on May 19, 2007. The Board planned this fundraising event for 2007 and the check was presented to the United Way of Butler County.
The 2007 Board includes the following students from Butler County school districts: Lauren Southworth, Jeff Mitch (Butler Area); Tim Berteotti, Charlie Beck ( Karns City); Madelynn Marburger, Matt Kennedy, Bryan Humphreys (Mars Area); Louis Butler, David Myers ( Seneca Valley); Chad Stanley (Slippery Rock); and Kaitlyn Lucas, Jacob Timko ( South Butler).
The 12-member Junior Bank Board, now in its fifth year, plans and coordinates its annual fundraising event under the mentorship of Jennifer Roxbury, SVP, NexTier Bank.

The NexTier Bank Junior Bank Board is a program that offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn about banking and the role banks play in the community and the economy. The program affords students the opportunity to learn about banking, running a business, career planning, and a multitude of other topics. It also gives them a perspective on how businesses and their role in the community are closely related. Board appointees must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and have a clean disciplinary record. Members also must possess attributes employers look for in prospective employees - a positive attitude, self-confidence and communication skills.
