First Seneca Valley School District home football game at NexTier Stadium to support the community
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 17, 2006 – The Seneca Valley football team’s first official home Raider football game of the 2006-2007 season on Sept. 8 takes on special significance since the renaming of Raiders Stadium to NexTier Stadium will also be celebrated.
To help the local communities, NexTier Bank and Seneca Valley School District ask those attending the game to bring a non-perishable food item for food pantries in Cranberry, Harmony, and Evans City. Those bringing an item will receive a NexTier Stadium pompom or megaphone (while supplies last) to enhance their enjoyment of the season.
Opening ceremonies will include the raising of a new NexTier stadium flag and airplane pulling a NexTier banner circling the sky over the stadium. The festivities also include the District’s annual pre-game ceremony that recognizes veterans within the Seneca Valley School District for their dedicated service to our country.
Seneca Valley School District’s board of education approved NexTier Bank’s purchase of the stadium’s naming rights in April upon receiving NexTier’s 10-year commitment of $50,000 plus the expense of the new stadium signage. The signage was in place for the district’s 2006 graduation on June 3, 2006 at the stadium.
