To NexTier Bank Customers
A rash of fraudulent out-of-state debit card transactions has taken place outside Pennsylvania. Because the security of your account information is critical, NexTier Bank has the following in place to minimize your risk exposure and reduce the impact of any fraud.
Blocking your NexTier Debit Card Temporarily
We regret having to take such action but it is in your best interest as a NexTier Bank customer.
NexTier Bank is protecting your privacy by blocking point-of-sale transactions on your debit cards when used as credit cards. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your local NexTier branch or our Customer Care Center at 1-800-262-1088. Until we can remove this block:, we recommend the following:
-
Your transaction amounts may be limited to $50 when you use your debit card as a credit card, which requires your signature. A possible solution is to ask the merchant if you can complete the transaction by using your card as a debit card and entering your PIN number. Another option is to withdraw cash from an ATM machine that is part of a network listed on the back of your card, since there is no restriction. (Please be aware that if you have a suspected fraudulent card, these options are not available.)
